Poets and Storytellers United Friday Writings #176 invites us to share our thoughts on Slices of Life - a challenge I accept in my usual pessimistic and doom-laden haiku form . . .
Various! Choose from
Bread saw, pizza cutter. Best?
Madame Guillotine
Sliced Kings and Princes,
Tax collectors, chemists(*). "Vive
La Revolution!"
(*) One victim was the French nobleman Antoine Lavoisier, the Father of Modern Chemistry. Google him, or have a look at this sardonic account,
I like doom-laden. Fits our current situation.
ReplyDeleteMr. Horse, we build up a reputation. Some will have one of mistrust, doom, and destruction. Others will have one of liability, efficiency, and knowledge of their subjects.
ReplyDeleteYou fit the first and self destruction hovers before you even find out the facts.
I suppose you can't hold a job and are fired before you set your foot in your employers doors.
Wake up and be real, polish your shoes.
Thank you, Jim. You have touched my heart. I will strive for a more cheerful and optimistic outlook. Bet I know more about Antoine Lavoisier than you do.
DeleteI may have been too hard here, I was smiling when I wrote. Sorry if I hurt your feeling. Sort of like a high-school debate?

Well, Mme G certainly sliced OFF plenty lives. M Lavoisier sounds like a very great loss! However, achieved much before they killed him, for which I think we must be thankful.
ReplyDeleteI love your poem (I love your profile even more.)
ReplyDeleteLove this poem. Gloom covers the world.
